Our American Girl Collection Part 1

A few years ago we discovered American Girl.  Our cousin was going to the US and was getting a MYAG doll, so we had look and fell in love.  The historical dolls completely captured our imagination, and we were hooked for life!
We now have all the historical dolls apart from Molly (who will come one day) and an extensive range of MYAG's and Girl of The Year dolls.

Elizabeth was the first 18" doll to enter our world (owned by MGG3).   She is very loved and an absolutely gorgeous doll. Although Elizabeth is usually dressed in her own outfits, she often likes to be a little more casual, or even more fancy, depending on the occasion.

Kaya was the next doll in our collection (first doll owned by MGG1).  She is such a great addition to any collection.  Kaya looks so calm and serene, but also like she is paying attention to everything that is going on.  Kaya easily goes between her historical outfits and a more modern look.

Emily was our third doll (the first owned by MGG2).  Emily was chosen specifically because she arrives in a lovely cherry dress, and MGG2 is in love with cherries.
Emily is a perfect first doll for anyone considering an American Girl doll.  We highly recommend her.

Samantha Parkington was the second doll owned by MGG1.  She was an eBay purchase as Samantha had already archived by the time we discovered AG.  Samantha came with  several outfits from her collection.  She is actually a Pleasant Company Samantha and is a little wobbly on her legs, so she gets special attention and is used only for display rather than play.

MMG1 saved money to buy a MYAG #42 doll when they changed outfits in 2010.  She is an amazing doll with perfect hair for styling over and over again.  She is called Ihee (a nickname from early childhood for MGG1).

Kirsten arrived as a Christmas gift in 2010.  She was MGG3's second doll.  Kirsten was just going into the archives when we discovered AG, but sadly we didn't buy her right away, so she was an eBay purchase too.  We are huge Little House on the Prairie fans, so Kirsten fit nicely into our world.  Kirsten usually wears her own outfits and only branches out into modern clothes for certain occasions.

Felicity also arrived for Christmas 2010.  She was MGG2's second doll.  Felicity was in the process of being archived so we tried desperately to gather as much of her collection as possible.

Baby was our first Bitty Twin and first doll owned by MGG4.  Only 18 months old at the time, Baby was named appropriately for a child that age, but the name has stuck and we just love her.  This would be my first choice for a Bitty Twin for any little girl.

Marisol was the other Christmas arrival for 2010.  She was MGG1's 4th doll.  At the time MGG1 was obsessed with ballet, so after reading the Marisol book (which wasn't a brilliant book-but the character was sweet), she decided that Marisol was her Christmas wish.  Marisol has the best hair, and is a stunningly attractive doll.  It is a little disappointing she was not created as a permanent doll as she is so good.
